Allaw in Iraq to discuss common subjects, most notably the rehabilitation of the old oil pipeline and new oil and gas lines

Eng. Sufian Allaw Minister of Oil and Mineral Resources begins official visit to Iraq on Tuesday to discuss a number of bilateral issues in the areas of oil and gas and refining industry, and particularly the rehabilitation of the oil the old transit line and the subject of oil and gas of new pipelines and the stages completed for the two sides to implement the project.

 

 

Iraqi Oil Minister Abdul-Karim Laibi met in Damascus last February with Allaw and reviewed relations of cooperation between the two sides in the fields of oil, gas and mineral wealth and the means developed to achieve the common interest of both countries.

The two sides discussed the possibility of utilization of gas available in the field of Akkas near the Syrian border and the actions taken and progress of the work contract with a foreign company which will develop the field as well as discuss cooperation in the development of structures adjacent to the field of prospecting and exploration for oil and gas cooperation between the General Organization for Petroleum and its subsidiaries with corporate Iraqi oil in the areas of surveying, prospecting and drilling, exploration and oil services.

Minister of Oil, in this visit, Is accompanied by Mr. Ali Abbas, Director General of GPC and Eng Naim Jaber from the Department of follow-up at the Oil Ministry.
