Shell VP Business Visit Syria and discussed with number of oil Officials current

Shell/Middle East regional Vice President for technical and production Mr.John Barry, visited Syria on May 23rd. as part of his regular business Visits to the Shell operating companies in the region.

 

During his visit, Mr. Barry met with Mr. Ali Abbas General Manager of General Petroleum Corporation. During the meeting they discussed current business issues and future plans in addition to looking forward to the upcoming AFPC board and shareholder meetings which will be held in July 2011.

 

Later on he met Mr. Said Hunedi Al-Furat Petroleum Company (AFPC) Chairman to discuss current AFPC operations. He conveyed as well Shell leadership’s Congratulations for the excellent HSE performance by AFPC staff in achieving 25 Million man-hours without any lost time injury, which is considered to
be a world-class performance.

 

At the end of his visit Mr. Barry met with Syria Shell staff and Management to update them on the latest Shell business developments in the region.

 

He stressed the importance of continuing to conduct our business in a manner that is safe, healthy and environmentally friendly.

 

Although the visit was short, it has achieved its goals and Mr. Barry Expressed his appreciation to the good work made by all the staff in Syria.
