Syrian Prime Minister Muhammad Naji Otri discussed with the general manager and head of the executive body of Total Christopher de Marjuri relations of cooperation between the company and the Oil Ministry and governmental oil companies.

The two parts also discussed prospects for developing cooperation in the fields of production oil and gas ,exploration and development of productive capacity and existing cooperation at the level of future projects and new energy transmission and the development of power distribution of fuels in addition to contributing local development projects.
The signing ceremony was attended by Eng.Sufian Alao minister of oil and mineral resources.

The three agreements have been signed are:
– A strategic cooperation framework agreement between the Syrian Oil Company and Total
– Protocol to extend production-sharing agreement between the Syrian Oil Company and Total.
– Agreement to develop and Invest Taba gas field between the Syrian Gas Company and Total

The agreement contained extension period of development and amendment production sharing 88 that was signed between the Syrian Oil Company and Total Exploration and Production in Syria to extend the contract signed with the company “Total” to invest and develop oil and gas fields in Syria for 10 years, after amending some contract terms that allowed increase Syria’s share of the proceeds through a top limit for oil prices in addition to profit sharing payments as well as the extension of social and resolve some outstanding problems.

The aim of the Framework agreement for joint cooperation that took place between the Syrian Gas Company and the Syrian Oil Company on one hand and “Total” for exploration and production in Syria and the company “Total” for exploration and production activities of oil to promote joint cooperation and establishing strategic partnerships allow the development of joint ventures between firms and the Syrian company “Total” in addition to find job opportunity through the projects in joint exploration and production and gas inside and outside of the Syrian territories.
