On Date 11/4/2011 the 17th meeting of Kawkab petroleum company ‘s board ,joint venture between General Petroleum Corporation and Chinese CNPC chaired by Dr.Abdul Rahman Abdullah and attended by members of boards from Syrian and Chinese sides.

Board discussed plan production in 2010 where the company had produced since it is first was established about 5100000 barrels of oil during 2010 with average of 14000 barrels a day achieving 99.3 % of the production plan.

 
Meeting as well as discussed drilling plan and achieved good results with a success average of drilling wells in the same year about 90 % ,these wells entered production operation.

Meeting also discussed professional and environment safety reality during last year which was full free of accidents and was treated about 30 old oil polluted sites by returning soil to its natural situation and the Environment Ministry assured that this way is safe towards environment.

 
Kawkab Company where company produces about 14 thousand barrels per day and plans to increase production to 16 thousand barrels per day in the coming years by carrying out surveys in new areas. The Partnership was established years 2004 to increase the yield of oil and gas in the region Kbeba in the province of Hasaka.
