In Collaboration with Total E&P Syrie .. French Culture Center in Damascus..Ballot exhibits more than 50 Photos showcasing Louvre Museum at Damascus National Museum
An exhibition featuring 50 photographs of the Louvre Museum and its contents by French photographer Jean-Christophe Ballot was opened on Sunday at the Modern Arts Gallery at the National Museum in Damascus.
Ballot’s photos capture various stages in the Louvre’s history, with the photos exploring the museum both during day and at night, contrasting the two elements Some of the photos feature known landmarks near the Louvre, including Notre Dame de Paris Cathedral and the Arc de Triomphe.
Ballot said that his photos is different from other journalist photographers’ ones it forms his special contemplated vision towards the Louvre Museum pointed out that he tried through his photos to present a unique view at the nine sections of the museum.

For his part Patrik Dureil Culture consultant in French embassy in Damascus said that audience can feel through these photos that Ballot has the architect eye in addition to the photographers eye pointed out to the importance of the exhibition’s notion came from its gathering between mutual history and heritage culture between Syria and France.
He indicated that these exhibition will be accompanied with Photo competence started in 1st May pointed out that event is an important occasion to discover famous photographers like Ballot who himself contributed in preparation of this exhibition.
During the exhibition, which will be concluded on April 19th, Ballot will accompany visitors and gives them detailed information on each photograph at 6:30 on April 18th. He will also give a lecture on photography at 7:00 PM on April 19th at the French Cultural Center in Damascus.
