ORBIS carried out 57 free sight saving surgery and trained doctors , nurses and technicians in Deir Ezzor

Deir Ezzor has wide attention from International Organizations and others of public and private sectors in contributing in developing the province and increasing Social, cultural and Health care awareness in it.. So that ORBIS Flying Eye Hospital Program had carried out eyes surgeries in February 13-24 ,2011 at Deir Ezzor International Airport and the Al Assad Hospital, and in partnership with the Syrian Ministry of Health.

 

ORBIS pointed out in a thanking letter to all parties that contributed to meet its goals and enabled the team to accomplish many things like training 11 ophthalmologists who received surgical and clinical hands-on training in the newest techniques in eye care and training 7 Nurses who received hands –on training with FEH staff nurses in pre-op and post-op care of patients, care of surgical instruments and sterilization, as well as surgical set-up and assisting the surgeon during the operation.

 

 

Our program as well as trained 3 Anesthesiologists who received hands-on training in ophthalmic and pediatric anesthesia in addition to 7 Biomedical engineers and technicians who received training in maintenance and repair of ophthalmic equipment beside Over 100 eye care professionals took part in case discussions ,didactic lectures and live surgical demonstrations.

 

It added that 57 patients received free sight –saving surgery and thanked Total E&P Syrie for its distinctive support.
