Ministry of oil and mineral resources and General Petroleum corporation was assigned Dr. Abdul Rahman Abdullah as a chairman of board of Kawkab Oil Company the joint venture between GPC and Chinese CNPC to replace Dr. Ahmad Mualla who has retired.

Dr. Abdullah was senior of engineers and assistant of General Manger for technical affairs and director of professional safety and environment in Kawkab as well as he was assigned to follow up the companies affairs since October 2010 up till now.

Kawkab Company where company produces about 14 thousand barrels per day and plans to increase production to 16 thousand barrels per day in the coming years by carrying out surveys in new areas. The Partnership was established years 2004 to increase the yield of oil and gas in the region Kbeba in the province of Hasaka.

Eng. Shaban Zayak was as well as assigned as chairman of Dijlah Company for Oil the joint venture between GPC and Gulf Sands to replace Muhammed Kareim who was retired .

Eng. Shaban was chairman of Board for Arrasheed Oil Company.

Dijllah Company was established as a joint venture between the General Petroleum Corporation and Gulf Sands Petroleum Co. to drill for oil under a contract for oil exploration, development and production in Block 26. Its production reaches 24 thousand barrel a day.

Dr. Nabieh Khrastine was also assigned as chairman of Board for Arrasheed Oil company which is a joint venture between GPC and IPR Company to replace Eng. Shaban Zayak.

The Company has achieved in March 2010 on the commercial production of oil the outcome of drilling and exploration work in Block 24 Arrasheed) from Jawdia formation in the installation of good fact to the north of the city of Deir al-Zour by about 17 km and formations Shiloh – Debbane – Juraibah in the installation of Abu Khachab , to the north-east of Deir al-Zour by about 60 km.
