Syria Shell Petroleum Development signed renewal of the MoU with Ministry of Social and Labor Affairs to support Intilaaqah Syria program.. and celebrates the Intilaaqah Annual Award 2010 for Entrepreneurs
Syria Shell Petroleum Development in a cermoney on Monday 28 February 2011 at the Four Seasons Hotel, Damascus signed on a renewal of the MoU signed between the Ministry of Social and Labor Affairs to support Intilaaqah Syria program and developing the skills of young Syrian people and support who are interested in starting own business.
cermoney was attended by many institutions and figures involved in entrepreneurship and SME support in Syria and Paralleled to , an exhibition organized to present the projects and business ideas of the Intilaaqah graduate entrepreneurs as well as celebrated 12 Winners among of 100 persons participated in the the Award of the Intilaaqah Annual Award 2010 for Entrepreneurs. awards were cash and valued about one million and two hundred Syrian Pounds.

the The award contains three categories From Intilaaqah graduates ,best business idea;best business plan; and best startup project; while From none Intilaaqah graduates ,Best SM startup project.

Intilaaqah Program is Shell sponsored initiative and a member of the Shell LiveWIRE International Social Investment Program, started in Syria in 2008, aiming to support young people who are interested in starting own business, by providing them with the necessary training and Advice. The program provided its services for more than 700 entrepreneurs graduate.

Shell believes in the importance of developing the skills of young Syrian people as essential part of its responsibility in regards to upgrading and developing the Syrian society in general and supporting SMEs in particular.
The programme aims to encourage young Syrians to consider the option of self-employment and entrepreneurship. It gives young people wishing to establish small business the opportunity to benefit from previous experiences in this area and gain expertise necessary to establish a successful small enterprise, which provides job opportunities for them and for others as well.
The programme offers the following services free of charge about Awareness sessions and campaigns about the importance of entrepreneurship and the role of SMEs in developing the economy.and Specialized training programs to develop skills of young people to establish and manage their small enterprises as well as providing post training advisory services to young entrepreneurs to enable them to start their enterprises.
Mrs. Leena Abdulkhaleq,Program Manager Intilaaqah Syria Program said that program is resulted in establishing 140 projects in trade, industry,service and other areas.
