Syria Shell Petroleum Development Co. started on 29/10/2010 digging Wadi Saied-101 exploration well in block-15 in the region / 15 / Ozainah contract, in order to reach a final depth of 1810 to explore the hydrocarbon potential till balyozoik formations.

This is the second well in the block after drilling Rumanah Affendi – 101 well, noted that Syria Shell has begun the initial exploration stage as of 01/02/2007 till 31/01/2011.

Syria Shell Petroleum Development signed in October 2006 with the Oil Ministry’s two contracts of oil exploration, development and production in the two regions 13 and 15 The following are details of the contracts:

Ozainah Contract work under the contract ratified by Decree / 57 / 2006.
The concession area is located to the south of Palmyra area to the Iraqi – Jordanian borders with 8087 km 2 square.
It is within the initial exploration period starting from “01/02/2007, for 48 months.”
• Technical obligations of implementation of the 8000 km of gravity magnetic survey and the acquisition of 775 km or a two-dimensional equivalent of three-dimensional scanning and re-address the 1000 km of two-dimensional survey and the drilling of two Expletory wells
The carried out operations:
• the implementation of two dimensional survey and processing 5076 km. The final report of the environmental study, have been completed by Elard company.
Signing of Aromama A well in field ”

Block – 13 (Amuriyah contract)
• work under the contract ratified by Decree / 58 / 2006.
The concession area is located southwest of Deir al-Zour, to the Iraqi borders and an area of 6040 km 2.

• It is within the initial exploration period starting from “01/02/2007, for 48 months.”
• Technical obligations implementation of 6000 km gravity magnetic survey and the acquisition of 775 km or a two-dimensional equivalent of three-dimensional scanning and reprocessing 700 km of two-dimensional survey and the drilling of two exploration wells.
The carried out operation :
• the implementation of two-dimensional surveys and processing 890 km.
• prepared to dig Hamimah well .
• The study proposed to drill a well Alchola South (A) in al-miocene positions which is specified in the northern part of the block.
