with the participation of Syrian oil Minister Eng. Sufian AllawThe Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries (OAPEC) holds its 85th meeting in Cairo on the twenty fifth of December to discuss the topics on the agenda.

 

 

 

The organization said in a press statemet that the meeting chaired by the Minister of Energy in the United Arab Emirates Mohamed Hamli, whose country runs current session of the Organization.

 

The statement said the meeting will discuss the approval of the budget estimates for the General Secretariat and the judiciary as well as the appointment of the Office of Audit for the year 2011.

 

He noted that the meeting will review the activities of the Secretariat during the current year and the technical and economic studies carried out in addition to the follow-up of Environmental Affairs and climate change to discuss the results of the Ninth Arab Energy Conference which was held in the State of Qatar, mid-year.

 

OAPEC will announce in the forthcoming meeting the names of researchers OAPEC scientific award winners for the current year, which aims to promote scientific research in the field of petroleum industry, where research will be published in the Journal of the winning Oil and Arab Cooperation of the Organization.

 

 The organization functions through four organs, namely, the Council of Ministers, the Executive Office, the General Secretariat and the judiciary, and the Council of Ministers is the highest authority that determine the policies of the organization under the guidance activities and signed the rules governing it.
