Total E&P Syrie supported operation of 1st Interactive School in Damascus
TotalE&P Syrie in cooperation with the Ministry of Communications and Technology and the Ministry of Education and the State Planning Commission and the United Nations opened in Adwelaa first interactive school in Damascus within the activities of the strategic program project to use information and communication technology in economic and social development in Syria.
The project aims to promote the use of ICT in some schools in the governorate of Damascus would help to achieve better performance and closer interaction between the school , students and parents.
The project offers teachers the possibility of communicating with students and their parents through the website for the school and follow up the academic performance of students and answer their questions and queries where the parents of the students know all the information about their children through the school site on the Internet of the results and attendance and behavior and functions and the dates of the notes and exams in addition to send your inquiries and questions to the professors and the administration.

The project also allows the student to communicate with teachers and send their inquiries through the site along with the contribution of the information system applied in the management of the school to facilitate the deal electronically with all information and documentation.
For his part, Dr. Nur al-Din Sheikh Obaid, managing director of the strategic program for the use of information and communication technology in economic and social development in Syria said that the project is being implemented in five schools in Damascus after it was implemented in 15 schools in the province of Deir al-Zour, where is equipped with all the schools Hall of computers for students and a group of computers for management are all linked in a network and an Internet connection and a quick printer and a projector and a camera and school information system and a website on the Internet.

opening ceremony which took place in school Samir Salloum for Girls was attended by Dr. Imad Sabouni, Minister of Communications and Technology and Dr. Amer Hosni Lutfi, Chairman of the State Planning Commission and Jean-Louis Barjolle, Total E&P Syrie, Managing Director , Deputy Resident Representative of UNDP and Director of Education directorate in Damascus and a number of stakeholders in the actors involved in the project.
Total E&P Syrie operates as a responsible citizen through optimizing its ontribution to socio-economic development by encouraging programs in Syria to promote: education, health, building entrepreneurship capacities and environment; with an emphasis on supporting education and local skills.
These programs have been channeled through NGOs and International Organization, in close relation with local communities and public authorities.
Aware of the value of Information Technology and focusing on promoting access to a better education, Total E&P Syrie has decided along with its partner (UNDP) to implement the Interactive school initiative, which is considered as a result of Total E&P Syrie long and fruitful cooperation with the UNDP.
Total E&P Syrie support to Education in Syria is not limited to this initiative;it is also offering full 25 scholarships for Syrian students for 15 years to study in the Lycee Charles de Gaulle (French School in Damascus).
Awarding scholarships to talented students through Total’s international scholarship program, where ecipients can pursue their education in France, at business and engineering schools or universities, and work towards a Master’s in engineering and MBA.
Providing courses by TPA “Total Professeurs Associes”, this association offers lectures and courses in all fields within the oil industry, both technical and non technical. Training is provided by TPA members,
teachers and experts, who are active or retired Total employees.
In addition to offering “Education and Energy Seminars” granted by Total Université program to professors specializing in fields of science related to energy businesses or economics.
Financially, supporting associations working to help disadvantaged youth establish a solid position in Society.
