Qatar is in talks with Total (TOTF.PA: Quote) and Royal Dutch Shell (RDSa.L: Quote) to develop the Raslaffan petrochemical complex, Qatari Energy Minister Abdullah al-Attiyah said on Tuesday.
“We are in talks with Total, and we are talking to Shell,” Attiyah told reporters at a gas forum in Doha.
Exxon Mobil Corp (XOM.N: Quote) was previously in talks with Qatar Petroelum [QATPE.UL], but a number of industry sources believe that the U.S. giant had pulled out of the project.
The Qatari oil minister added that the value of the project, estimated to be $6 billion, will be reviewed.
“The final cost of the project will be revealed once the tendering is over,” Attiyah said.
