Meeting of ministers of oil and energy in Damascus postponed

Meeting of oil and energy ministers in Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq and Turkey was postponed to  undetermined date for reasons related to the formation of the Jordanian government.

 

 

 

It was supposed meeting in the capital Damascus on Sunday but the Oil Ministry sources confirmed that it will set a date to be announced soon, due to the importance of all parties concerned attend the meeting.

The meeting to discuss the establishment of joint ventures engaged in the exploration and hydrocarbon production and delivery of Oil services between the States concerned, transfer of technology and expertise and the creation of a human specialist in this field, in addition to cooperation in the transfer of Iraqi oil through Syria to the sources of export and the establishment of new refineries or manufacturing plant petrochemical pipelines on roads through the formation of joint companies meeting will also discuss the linking of the gas transport between the States concerned and cooperation in the transfer of gas from the producing countries to consuming countries as well as take advantage of the stations of liquefied natural gas development in these countries.

Turkish Energy Minister Eng. Taner Yildiz and Minister of Energy and Water Engineer Lebanese Gibran Bassil, Jordanian Energy Minister Khaled Irani and Iraqi Oil Minister Hussein al-Shahristani, Oil Minister Sufian Allaw Syrian will participate in the meeting.
