OAPEC to hold a seminar in Damascus about the global financial crisis and its impact on oil and gas sector in the Arab States
Under the patronage of Oil Minister Sufian Allaw Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries (OAPEC) hold on Monday in Damascus, a symposium on the global financial crisis and its impact on the oil and natural gas in the Arab countries to highlight which of the impacts of the global financial crisis on the oil industry and the global gas and in the Dedeman Hotel.
And participate in the two-day seminar a number of experts from some of the SCO member states and companies emanating from it and some Arab institutions and global and specialized research centers on energy issues.
Symposium to focus on reflection of the crisis on the global economy and its repercussions direct oil markets in terms of reduced demand and falling prices, declining oil revenues for the Arab States of the Petroleum Exporting, and its role in the decline in economic growth rates in the Arab countries in addition to the reflection of the crisis on the petroleum industry in its infancy front and Central and later, and the activity of international companies and national companies operating in the petroleum sector, and corporate activity emanating from the Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries.
The seminar will discuss a reflection of the crisis on the investment in the energy sector in Arab countries in particular, and in the global energy sector in general and the prospects for the global economy after the crisis, and the outlook for oil demand and the location of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries for oil in the balance of world energy after the crisis, and the opportunities and challenges facing the Arab petroleum industry under conditions of uncertainty in the future of the global demand for oil.
The Organization / OAPEC / was founded in 1968 with the aim to strengthen cooperation between Member States in the petroleum industry and the preservation of their interests and unite efforts to secure access to oil consumer markets on fair terms, acceptable and appropriate conditions for investment in the oil industry.
The organization has taken from the State of Kuwait-based Kuwait and Saudi Arabia, Libya and United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, Algeria, Egypt, Syria and Iraq in addition to the many companies that support their efforts in the field of oil.
