Allaw launches storage increase capacity project in Banias gas cost 5.13 million euros and visit the project company SHEMI Gas unit

Eng. Sufian Allaw Minister of Oil and Mineral resources launched, a project to increase storage capacity in Banias gas unit by adding five spherical tanks capacity of 3000 cubic meters each, so that the total storage capacity of 11,500 tons what he believes in the continuing supply of gas filling units without interruption.

The significance of the project is to increase the overall capacity for storing liquid gas at the site of Banias to 11500 tons, while the implementation of the project before 4000 tons in addition to the possibility of receiving tankers with a tonnage of freedom as much as 15000 tons as well as to avoid a break in the domestic gas as a result of difficult weather conditions.

Allaw said in a statement to “Syria-Oil” at the opening of the project .. That Syria is importing large quantities of liquid cooking gas to meet the growing needs pointing out that the need for Syria’s domestic gas of approximately one million tons are produced around 400 thousand tons of local refineries and gas plants complemented with the remaining amount by importing about 600 tons.

The minister added that the project contribute to overcoming the problem of lack of storage capacity with this article which helps to avoid paying large costs as a result of the import of gas by tankers small addition to the insurance needs of domestic cooking gas throughout the year even with the increased demand for this material in the chapter Winter explained that the project economic and recovers the cost of $ 5.13 million euros over three years.
