Shell in Syria  Provided full equipped ambulance to Basel Hospital in Palmyra and because of it provides real emergency and health services to citizens and travelers and tourists in the region in the presence of Dr. Mostafa Matar, Director General of the Basel Hospital in Palmyra.

this initiative comes as part of  Shell in Syria plan for social development in the city of Palmyra, which includes many different activities to support the local community, where Shell has provided during its work in the region, many important initiatives to contribute to the process of sustainable development for the region.

Dr. Matar pointed out that the car, which cost with equipment medical about three million Syrian pounds contains traumatic cardiopulmonary monitor to monitor the heart and ventilator intensive care and rehabilitation to suck the secretions and the measure of oxygenation, a telescope, four-to examine the ear, nose and throat and an air conditioner in the patient room in addition to oxygen Central and intubation device to patients with accidents.

Mr. Jean-Michel Larock – Exploration Manager for Shell south exploration limited in Syria noted to the collaboration concrete with all government agencies and that the submission of this car comes in the framework of events offered by the company to the local community in Palmyra, where the company has contributed to support charities and provide a variety of initiatives to increase awareness about the concepts of road safety, health and environmental protection.

Mr. Bashar Al-Kassab Hassan, director of external relations at the company said that Shell is working in Syria for nearly 25 years and focuses directly on social development through its work, pointing out that the hospital destroyed the national is making a major health towards the citizens and workers in companies located in the region which need to great support.

 Shell in Syria has established in April 2008 road safety campaign under the slogan “safety ..” in the city of Palmyra, as the company held an awareness campaign for two weeks for students in basic education in the city of Palmyra aimed to consolidate the important concepts related to increasing knowledge about road safety and the protection of environment and attention to health and hygiene and energy conservation.
