JORDAN: GOVERNMENT INCREASES FUEL PRICES

Category: Arab Oil & Gas News | Posted on: 25-10-2010

The Jordanian government has increase the prices of oil by-products with averages in some cases that reach 6.5%, according to Al Jazeera television, which added that the decision is effective starting today.

The prices commission headed by the Industry Minister, which meets monthly to adjust prices of oil by-products based on international rates, decided to increase the price of petrol from 0.540 to 0.575 Jordanian dinars (nearly 0.60 euros).

Yesterday’s decision kept natural gas for domestic use prices unvaried as previous promised. Despite this, the decision will have a negative affect on public transport prices and on household budgets, due to the increase to the price of kerosene, which is used for home heating.
