Saudi Arabia’s oil production is 8.1 million barrels a day (bpd), the kingdom’s Oil Minister Ali al-Naimi said on Monday.

“Today, the kingdom produces around 8.1 million barrels per day,” Naimi told reporters in the Saudi capital.

He also said there were over 88 billion barrels in the Ghawar oil field, adding that the time of “easy oil” extraction was not over yet in the Gulf Arab state.

“We still have over 88 billion in the Ghawar field. That’s more than many countries in the world. You can dismiss that notion that easy oil in Saudi Arabia is gone,” he said.
