Khalid Al Mogharbel DPC General Manager said that the company started On Oct 3rd 2010, all trucking operations were stopped and crude was diverted to newly built 8” pipeline of 22km length to Tel Adas.

He added in an interview to Syria-oil Site that The pipeline was constructed in record time and based on international quality and safety standards. Moreover, the operational cost associated with trucking is discontinued and the payback for the cost of the pipeline is only six months of trucking.

He noted that The production from Khurbat East Field has reached 18,000 barrels while Yousfieh field production is at 3,000 barrels (total of 21,000 barrels of oil with negligent water cut). This production level is expected to increase especially with the excellent reservoir behavior and the extra separation capacity available in Yousfieh early production facility, taking note that the capacity of the 8” pipeline is around 26,000 barrels.

Al Mogharbel stressed that DPC is committed to top-class reservoir management and monitoring and bases its production strategy on thorough technical studies and up-to -date dynamic model. The early results from KHE-18 are very encouraging and suggest that the field has good extension in the direction of North-West which could mean additional reserves from Khurbat East field.

He said that DPC is currently evaluating the bids for the CPF (central production facility) and is working on the scope to build an office and accommodation complex in the field. On the exploration side, Gulfsands is going to be very active and currently is acquiring 1025 km2 of 3D seismic west of KHE field. The short term plan is to drill 3 exploration wells; one of them will be deep to evaluate the Butma and Kurashina Dolomite formation.

Al Mogharbel concluded that DPC (and Gulfsands) proud that all these achievements are done with a workforce of which 95% are Syrian Nationals.

DPC is a joint venture between General Petroleum Corporation and Gulf Sands according to Petroleum Exploration ,Development and Production contract in 26 sector in north east Syria.
