Maliki in Damascus on Wednesday to discuss bilateral relations in political, economic and trade side… oil minister postponed his visit to the fields in Hasaka and Deir al-Zour to Thursday

Media sources reported that Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki plans to visit Syria on Wednesday to discuss the development of bilateral relations in political, economic and commercial sides .

 

 

The sources said that Oil Minister Eng. Sufian Allaw postponed his visit to the oil fields and work sites in Hasaka and Deir al-Zour to Thursday for the need for his presence in Damascus during a al-Malki visit .

 

Syria and Iraq signed during the visit of Prime Minister Muhammad Naji Otri to Baghdad in April last year a joint memoranda of understanding in the areas of oil, trade and energy.
It was agreed on the rehabilitation of the Kirkuk – Banias oil pipeline and prepare a draft cooperation agreement sets a strategic integration between the two countries in all fields.

 

Iraqi government said last month that a preliminary agreement between Iraq and Syria will allow the export of about three million barrels of Iraqi oil a day through pipelines reach to the Mediterranean through Syria so that they are the first line capacity up to 1.5 million barrels, while the energy of second-line 1.25 million.

 

It added that thepipe line will be the largest heavy crude, while the line will be smaller and lighter crudes suggested the government to include a line III project to transport gas that could be used to run the pumping stations.
