Eng. Sufian Allaw Minister of Oil and Mineral Resources discussed with the delegation of the Ministry of Energy of Jordan, headed by Dr. Maher Hijazin, Director General of the natural resources, experts and technicians in the field of geological studies and laboratory on the rocks of oil shale potential benefit from the experience of the Jordanian side in the field of energy production from alternative sources.

The minister pointed to the reality of energy consumption in Syria, and sources of production, particularly oil and gas development projects and the development of these resources, especially gas in preparation for the adoption of it as a clean and cheap energy, pointing to a number of agreements with all of Iraq, Iran and Azerbaijan to import oil and gas.

Allaw stressed on the importance of studying the production of energy from alternative sources shale oil and the need to take advantage of the experience of the Jordanian side in this field and cooperation to evaluate the data and studies General Establishment of Geology to invest in shale oil shale in the area of Khanasser southeast of Aleppo in addition to cooperation in all other areas relating to the functions of the two Syrian, Jordanian and continued coordination and cooperation with the International Centre for the study of regional shale oil in the Middle East.

The delegation is visiting Syria for three days Laboratories General Establishment of Geology and oil shale mining sites in Syria to see the exploration programs and the Geological Survey currently under way.

large quantities of shale oil has been discovered in Syria, estimated at billions of tons spread over large areas and close to the surface of the earth in the little fingers of Aleppo in addition to other amounts in the Daraa.

oil shale is an organic compound included in the composition of oil and most of the components can be the most important alternatives for future energy production and the petrochemical industries.

The process of producing electricity from it economically feasible where she works closed water circuit does not need additional amounts of water compared with the crude distillation plants.
