President al-Assad Inaugurates South Central Area Gas Plant and First Stage of Arab Gas Line
President Bashar al-Assad inaugurated on Wednesday the South Central Area’s gas plant and the first stage of the Arab Gas Line project in Homs.

Eng. Sufian Allaw Minister of Oil and Mineral Resources opened Hayan Oil and Gas Processing Station. The station, located west of the city of Palmyra, will process the oil and gas produced by the Hayan Company fields with a capacity of 6000 oil barrels per day and 650,000 cubic meters of clean gas that is ready for use.
Allaw to open on Saturday Hayan Gas and Oil Plant
On Saturday,14th November, Eng. Sufian Allaw Minister of Oil and Mineral Resources will open Hayan Gas and Oil Plant and visit Jahar Well to have a look on tests of its production and will visit South Central Region Gas Plant which will be open soon.
“Story Trans Gas”, “Lead” and “Aweys” companies completed all the installation and initial testing at a Gas Plant in South central Area … Oil Minister: the production of clean gas from the plant exceeded / 5 / million cubic meters per day
Eng. Sufian Allaw Minister of Oil and Mineral Resources said that the production of clean gas from the gas plant south of the central region exceeded / 5 / million cubic meters per day, plus / 2500 / barrels of condensate per day, having completed the Syrian Gas Company in cooperation with Russian Story Trans gas , Lead and Aweys companies , all installation and initial testing in the mentioned lab.
Gas Plant in central area was examined by treating 5 million cubic meters a day
Gas Plant in central area is to provide Electric Power Generating Plant by Gas to release Fuel import and save huge costs of foreign currency and decrease the pollution caused by fuel burning.
Otri and Allaw inspected gas projects in Homs
Prime Minister Mohammad Naji Otri on Thursday said 5.5 millions cubic meters of gas will be connected to the Syrian net during the coming months to help boost national economy and industry.
Natural Gas production started in Abu Rabah field in Homs by 5.5 million cubic meter capacity per day
Oil and Mineral Resources ministry announced the starting of natural gas production in Abu Rabah Gas field of the gas project in south of central area which provides the national gas network with about 1.5 to 2 million cubic meter of gas daily in addition to 1200 – 1400 barrel of Capacitors per day.
Iraq plans to establish a new pipeline to pump natural gas to Syria
The Iraqi oil ministry said that Iraq intends to establish a new pipeline to pump natural gas to Syria as part of efforts to develop new routes for oil and gas exports.
Early production started in Abu Rabah gas field
Syrian Ministry of Oil and Mineral Resources announced that Syrian Gas Company in coordination with the Syrian Oil Company has begun since 15/12/2008 test production of natural gas from the gas field Abu Rabah, which is considered one of the largest gas fields in Syria.
2.5billion dollars the cost of projects to extract and produce of gas in Homs
Eng. Sufian Allao Minister of Oil and Mineral Resources was briefed during a tour in the province of Homs on the realities of working in a gas plant Jahar in Palmyra and other in south of the Central region and Ibla Laboratory in Alfrqls region and the latest stages in this project.
