1.8 billion tons of phosphate reserves in Palmyra
Crude phosphate reserves amounted in the Eastern region Palmyra about 1.8 billion tons which produces of ordinary and rinsed phosphate about 3 million tons annually and produces 2.5 million tons for export and the rest is used to provide fertilizer plant for the production of Homs fertilizer phosphate.
Eng. Sufian Alao minister of oil and mineral resources said that some international companies want to buy Syrian petroleum Coke that will be produced by the new refineries .
Eng Mohsen Farhan, director general of the phosphate and mining company said that the company work on developing production of phosphate by establishing plants of phosphate with capacity 2.7 million tons annually to meet the needs of manufacturing raw materials for the production of phosphate fertilizers through the establishment of a new factory in the phosphate mines with 500 thousand tons capacity.
Minister of Oil and Mineral resources Eng.Sufian Alao opened scientific symposium on materials building and industrial rock in the Arab world set up by the Public Institution of Geology and Mineral Resources in cooperation with the Arab Organization for Industrial Development and Mining.
