ِAllaw: Soon to provide Adra Industrial City by gas for the operation of industrial plants instead of fuel
Eng. Sufian Allaw Oil Minister said the ministry intends to provide Adra industrial city and ceramic plants with gas, pointing out that this would reduce fuel import, and provides more cost-effective for industrial establishments.
Syrian General Petroleum Corporation announced that , Oil exploration results indicate no depletion of the Syrian oil in the near future with the possibility of lifting the oil fields to yield more than it has reached and the launch of operations ranging from exploration of new land and access to the sea.
Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Eng. Sufyan Allaw expected at the opening of National Energy Conference demand for energy to increase by no less than 4.5 to 5 percent per year, which will lead to increased demand for energy sources that will eventually double by 2025 and triple by 2030, underlining the need for decisive and effective steps in conservation of energy, and improving the efficiency of its use, and finding alternative energy sources.

Eng.Sufian Allaw Minister of oil and Mineral resources said that his Ministry has successful experiences in joining Public and Private sectors. This verbal participation between the Ministry and Syria Shell by establishing al-Furat Oil Company in 1985 in addition to a wide number of participations in oil exploration.
Eng. Sufian Allaw Minister of Oil and Mineral Resources said that Syria’s Oil Production in the 1st half of the year is 377 Thousand Barrels a day and it will do its best to increase its production to reach its level in the 2nd half of the year compared to the same period in last year.
Eng. Sufian Allaw Minister of Oil and Mineral Resources said that” Syria plans to increase natural gas production from 6 billion cubic meters to 8 billion cubic meters in 2010.
Premier Eng. Mohammed Naji Ottri said that in next September, money assistances for supporting oil derivatives “Fuel” will be distributed on people through checks.
