• Offset well data and site survey analysis.

• Acquire planning data from geology, reservoir engineering or geophysics. Provide initial well timelines for planning purposes, drilling time curves and initial cost estimates.
• Precautions to avoiding Expected drilling problems.
• Work with mud engineer to confirm the optimum Drilling fluid based on present conditions.
• Provide engineering support/advise to the rig on program implementation.
• Optimize the drilling program and advice ways of reducing the well costs.
